Forest is in Virginia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Forest is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Today I visited this establishment on a recommendation from a Facebook page. At first I was pleased to see all the beautiful plants, pots, bushes and trees. Unfortunately it's NOT ADA approved for us disabled people. There's no ramp just stairs. I made my way up the stairs very slowly with my cane. I got inside and a woman and man were chatting with each other but didn't acknowledge myself or my daughter. We were here about 15 minutes, even walked less than 3 feet from them and they still never spoke to us. As a matter of fact they stopped talking to each other when we approached the counter. Silence! What is wrong with people these days!?! You expect people to drive an hour or more to come buy garden supplies but you can't even say hello. Gasoline is way to expensive to drive an hour or more to buy plants and accessories only to be completely blown off, it's NOT a place I would recommend or EVER go back to. I took tons of pictures today in hopes of helping a small business. My pictures, in less than the 5 years that I have been doing Google reviews has generated 6.9 million views. But I will not be sharing them as they don't deserve the publicity.

Excellent place! We go here to get our Duck feed and the staff are always so welcoming. The kids get to feed the fish and find the cats George and Lady Gray to give them lovins. This place is truly a community treasure.

Had to update my review after meeting George in person! Stopped by for some cider and local honey. We just very recently lost our cat to a tumor so I was extremely touched when George approached to welcome me sweetly! What a precious kind kitty! There is such a nice selection of plants and unique gift items in George’s farm store! So many bird foods, feeders and supplies for the garden! The local Morris Orchard Cider and farm fresh eggs are one of our favorite reasons to stop by though they have fresh bakery goodies as well! My parents enjoyed the pork bbq sandwiches at lunchtime! Stop by George’s in Forest for a smile and a few goodies to brighten your day or beautify your yard in every season! Such a nice gift selection for your favorite birder or nature lover! Exceptional selection of nature themed greeting cards too! We appreciate this local family and cat owned business in Bedford County, VA!

What a lovely place that for the longest time I never knew was a place that sold anything other than plant supplies and flowers. This place is a hidden gem thats actually not hidden at all. The staff is super friendly and they provide fresh meat, produce and even sweets. This place is very rustic so don't look for free WiFi but there is so much to look at inside and out you won't need your phone to distract you. I'll be coming back for more and you should definitely stop by just see what else they in store.
